X-Cel Specialty Contacts and Essilor Custom Contacts announced the launch of Lunara, a new US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) premarket approval (PMA)-approved overnight orthokeratology lens.

Lunara is manufactured in Optimum Infinite (tisilfocon A), a 180-Dk material that provides high oxygen permeability for overnight wear. Lunara’s landing zone geometry is designed around familiar tangential fitting principles used in established orthokeratology practices. According to the company, practitioners can apply the clinical logic they already know while using flexible optic zone and diameter options to address individual patient needs.

The Lunara launch also includes a dedicated Lunara Lens Selector, fitting and certification resources, and educational materials designed to support practitioners throughout the fitting process, from initial lens selection through follow-up and troubleshooting. Additionally, practitioners fitting Lunara are supported by NCLE-certified consultants available by phone from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM ET, Monday through Friday.
