We have much to celebrate in the history of contact lenses. Significant milestones were made over the last century, and even more have been made over the past few decades. Think about how far we have come in the designs and usage of specialty lenses to manage not only the most significant ocular disease but also to correct the near and far vision of otherwise “routine” patients. One event that we are particularly excited to start planning is the 40th anniversary of Contact Lens Spectrum, which takes place in 2026! Contact Lens Spectrum has remained a vital resource for eyecare professionals seeking up-to-date, practical information to enhance their contact lens practices and improve patient outcomes. Author Majid Kazmi said, “Successes are like milestones while excellence is a never-ending journey.” So true. Although this anniversary milestone certainly matters, what is even more important is that Contact Lens Spectrum has upheld excellence in the quality of its editorial content over this entire time period. What a remarkable achievement.
